No point in looking for companies who sells them. Reason? They ask way too much for these. Option? Is to do it yourself and have it rebuilt.
Watercooled center section is NOT a necessity, in a well-maintained vehicle it will last very well. But if you want it, get a toasted 951 or Audi MC engine's turbo center section, the're watercooled. You will have a probem with 931 stock oil line mounting probably.
Hybrid? Yes, definitely. You should go for K27 (from BMW 745, 3.5L turbo engine or 964 unit) or K28, like I did (check this thread: http://www.924board.org/viewtopic.php?t=15526&highlight= ).
When going hybrid, you'll need to purchase BOV or bypass valve.
