I got offered an Audi V8 the other day, complet with all engine controls, gearbox etx.
the thought crossed my mind to take it and put it in one of the 924 shells I had.
however reason prevailed in the end - my mechanic friend reckoned it would be a good swap except the for one thing. The motor offered was the 3.7 litre unit and as an Audi / Porsche Technician (as the Porsche mechanics are called here) he did a bit of research and offically there have only been two cars with these engines imported into NZ ad as such the engine parts are not readily available - If it was the 4.2 motor he reckoned it would have been worth a go as there were quite afew of thes in NZ
So if any of you guys see a Audi A8 or S4 engine floating around it might be worth a look - gives you 300 hp right out of the box. _________________ Remember a Porsche is not just for Christmas,

And, it would all be German. Of course, what I really want is the Porsche V-8 out of the Cayenne. _________________ 1980 924 Turbo |
