Hi to all,
Has anybody had the drivers seat stuck all the way forward (or back) and been unable to slide it in any direction?
This is what happened this afternoon as I moved the seat forward to vacuum the car. A metal rod that connects the releasing catches between themselves also fell out. Have spent most of the evening trying to release the catch that is not attached to the seat sliding lever with no success.
I cannot remove the seat because only the two rear bolts are visible.
Any ideas?
Thanks

You MIGHT be able to remove the 2 rear bolts and tip the seat far enough ahead to hook the linkage back up. Although my 76 has no linkage like you describe. _________________ 1976 924

Remove the pass side seat to see how the lever works. You may have to get a screwdriver and hammer to pound out the pieces broken off. Turn seat over and play with the pass seat rails to see if you can figure out how they work and how you have to punch out the broken parts.
I may have a seat rail.
By the way that metal is very strong and I don't know how it would break. _________________ "Never let them see you sweat"

Thanks for your help, I found the problem
My car is fitted with the pinstripe seats from a late 944 and therefore have electric height adjustment. The metal rod I described in the first post, links the two catches together, so that when you lift the lever to slide the seat, both catches are actuated.
I refitted the metal rod, closed the ends slightly with a pair of pliers and finished.
