Sorry, no pics ATM, but I found an old 924 (not sure on the year, but old) The body seems to be in pretty good shape and the interior looked decent, the guy said the engine runs perfectly but he fried the wiring harness, he wants $500
so I'm thinking, if I get the car, it shouldn't cost too much for a wiring harness, and I'd probably need a new altenator, not sure if I would need anything else... but just wondering what you guys thought, I'm new to porsche.
Thanks, Waikyoku |

Thanks, Waikyoku | First off, welcome to the board. I know many other folks will be able to contribute much more information as to what else to look for in the car - get an idea how long it was sitting with this owner and any other previous owner, that will dictate how much time you'll have to spend. When I bought mine, it had been garaged for a couple years so I spent about grand on new belts, timing belt, rebuilt alternater and master cyclinder, plugs and wires, and more. If the body is straight and there is no rust (or at worst only surface rust) then it sounds reasonable.
Show up with $500 but say the cash machine had a $300 daily limit and offer $380 (you had $80 bucks on you) see what you get - kind of like a spur-of-the-moment buy.
