Here they are: '85 Toyota MR2, '88 BMW 325, '92 Opel Calibra, '91 VW Scirocco and the best of all: '83 924 NA
We performed the test for our car magazine. Acceleration of my 924 was 9.3 seconds 0-100kph. Good result considering I had 225/45 ZR 17 radials and two persons onboard (me, driving and the second one with laptop).
924 won ALL handling tests, in acceleration test she was 3rd (1st BMW, 8.2 sec and 2nd MR2, 8.5 sec.), inside noise was 4th (worst was MR2 ). We haven't argued yet who will be the overall winner.....

It's me doing some action for shooting :

hehee, it's probably near 135 hp (931 intake manifold and big bore TB), but, as I said, it was measured one extra person onboard not including the driver, me And, it is real result, was done with the 5th wheel, no mistakes here _________________ '83 924 2.6 16v Turbo, 470hp

Dunno, some Audi unit. But these 135hp are not only from them, but also from dyno-session tuning of ignition and mixture
And I wouldn't take numbers of wheel dyno as absolute ones really seriously, 'cause on the other dyno it showed only 128hp _________________ '83 924 2.6 16v Turbo, 470hp

Throttle body should be an Audi 5000 or 4000 in North America, think they're called the 80 and 200 elsewhere.
VW MK2 Jetta and Golf throttle bodies are just as good, same casting I think with the big secondary and no restrictor. I checked one out at the junkyard, the throttle pulls the right way for use on a 924, the bolt pattern is identical and the gasket slides right over a 924 throttle body. The only issue I can think of is linkage travel, I have to compare how much pull they both have. _________________ '81 931 in various states of assembly |
