I am thinking of setting mine up to do this with a custom tow bar. I was wondering if anyone has any tips or pictures of were or how to attach it?

Seems I remember someone here say they do it but I can't find anything in the search engine.

Nobody flat tows anymore!! But, I know a fellow who flat tows a 944 (same thing). He pulls the front bumper and attaches to brackets fabricated to the frame rails.

Well, since two bolts hold the bumper to the bumper shocks, I would just pull your bumper, and fabricate a tow bar to fit the shocks.

Dumb me. I think in fact that's exactly what my 944 fellow does!

I question the strength of the shocks in the pulling direction. I've been able to break similar shocks on a VW Golf while trying to straighten some body damage.

I was kinda wondering the same thing Paul. I will take a closer look at building some custom units when I "Euro" my bumpers. I may be able to put some strength in them. Thanks guys.

Well, just get an old set of shocks, and weld them up where the slip joint is. You can use the originals when you want the bumper to be functional.
