Ok im not exactly sure what to all this peice but its the thingumgawut...

In the rear end theres is the little"scroll thing" that you pull out covers your cargo area... what is it called

second off I own a 924s... and for some reason I think the thingumgawut is able to connect to the glass rear end... but it seems that the glass from a 924s is from a 944? and it will only connect to the bottom below the glass? because the two hooks on the glass are too close together(any ideas? on how to fix this???(I really dont wanna buy a thingumgawut for a 944 and put it in...)

The factory "cargo shade" is designed to hook to the rear panel of the car, not the rear hatch glass frame.

There is/was an aftermarket kit that came with hooks that you could attach to the hatch frame that would allow you to connect the cargo shade to the hatch frame.

Personally, I think that is a bad idea, because the hatch frame is attached to the glass with some sort of industrial adhesive that is barely adequate for the job, has a tendency to break loose, and once separated, is very difficult (if not impossible) to properly reattach/seal.

Anything/weight that you add to the hatch assembly is going to increase the stress on the hatch frame to glass connection, and accerate the failure of the glue/seal.

The aftermarket kit for attaching the cargo shade to the hatch glass frame cannot be used if the car has a rear window wiper, as the wiper motor body interferes with the cargo shade.
