Hi, has anyone tried solid engine mounts in a 924 race car? Is the chassis strong enough? Are there any other possible weaknesses? _________________ Andrew

My friend did that on his race-car. For two seasons thathe raced it, no problems occured, but even though you should be prepared to tackle ones, because it's stressful to the mounts and body after all. Strut brace is a good idea when you're going that route. You probably already have it anyway _________________ '83 924 2.6 16v Turbo, 470hp

Thanks Raceboy, sounds like it could be worth a go. Anyone else tried this? _________________ Andrew

| Does anyone know where to get some? I see them for 944s, but not for our cars. |

Search this site. Somewhere is information about a UK outfit that was offering them. Rather dated information; but ... _________________ John

An alternative if you can't find any is to remove the rubber and cast liquid polyurethane resin into it. It's stiffer stuff than regular urethane bushings, and pretty easy to do yourself. _________________ '81 931 in various states of assembly |

VIBRATECHNICS do uprated mounts in the UK.
I have a set on my car. They cost £68 each.
Cheers
