Both are safe. I have installed both types on my cars and they are the same. _________________ Dan Flanagan--2002 VW Jetta TDI, 83 Mercedes 300D,83 Mercedes Euro-240D |

Threads are different also, the nylon one has a finer thread.
Both should be ok though _________________ Porsche 924 1984 (UK import) NA

They both will work, but I would never change just one. You want them to match. _________________ 1980 924 Turbo |

i would think that as long as you had it aligned properly it wouldn't really matter. Just make sure you take off the plastic cover before you try and put it in. oops _________________ 1987 924S Guards Red
