a supercharger is a method of forced induction it is driven by a pully off the crank,
as for if you should do it, if you can buy a kit and install it (86-88 only) and are VERY mechanically inclined) ok,
if you have a 2.0L 924, and you have all the tools and fabrication skills needed then ok,
but from the sounds of it you dont, so forget about it, and JUST ENJOY YOUR CAR AS IS _________________ 3 928s, |

Hey Lizard, have you ever tried being direct just kidding, man!
From all I've read, SC for the 924 is currently in the realm of serious racers only. There are a few folks playing around with concept stuff, but nothing that is turnkey. But to learn more, use the darn search feature! _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

Come on now... turnkey... nothing is ever turn key on a 924 or 944 as far as power adders go. Its all a matter of perspective...
Supercharger is easy to get, harder to install... but not impossible. Give me time to get a larger space to work and a 924 to fab up things on and I will give you your turn key, plug in play, pretty to look at kit...
Of course market, well thats a tuff one, just how much of a market is their for a Turbo or supercharger kit for the NA 924?
My problem is the only vehicles I have to test on our my 931 and 944.
Sooner or later I am going to get a 924 from JAXREPO, he seems to get plenty of 924 NAs in, get one from him on the cheap, make it my test bed, Dyno, tune, etc...
If I had one at my dispossal I could setup a supercharger in a weekend, but I dont...
I need room for my madness to mature...
924 Projects:
Turbo kits, -- 3/4 complete
Supercharger Kit -- 3/4 up 99% complete (depends on model od SC)
ITB setup -- 3/4 complete
DTB setup --3/4 complete
Carrera GT Style IC -- 1 complete (not a copy, but my version)
Custom EFI -- complete but not tuned, works on 931 & 944, needs T&T
Water Injection Kit -- Complete
Additional Fuel Injector Kit -- Complete
Intercooler Water Mister -- Complete
CO2 IC and Intake supercooling system -- complete
DracheFeuer Nitrous kit -- complete
Hybrid Turbo & Supercharger Setup -- 3/4 complete
Compond Turbo Setup -- 3/4 complete
3/4 Complete -- means I can finish it if I have a working 924 to T&T the setup.
Of course their are the mods to the 931 and 944, and many things I didnt list, bottom line... Im stalled on the 924 development... but not on increasing the modifications to the 944.
For an idea of what a hybrid setup can do, look at my avatar..... the downside is building the motor to handle that power and replacing your transaxle with something that can handle the power.

If you aim at selling them globally I think you could get a lot of them sold. YouŽd be a hero! Ship a kit to Sweden when youŽre done;-) _________________ Black 924 -85 |

Guys, shipping them overseas would be a PAIN. Not that I wouldnt do it, but wouldnt you spend a fortune on tax and all that mess, import fees?
Yea I could market them globally if get into marketing them/selling them.
I dont have the resources to crank these out by the hundreds or something, case by case, sure hand crafted and assembled oh yea!
I would sell to anyone any place, but problem is liability issues, beyond that its a piece of cake.
But seriously guys, if I make them available to anyone outside of R&D. I will make them available to all. |

Just let me know. I will sign a liability waiver... I am crazy like that.
"In the event that you put your finger in the turbine" or " In the event that you blow your car up" Either one I will sign.... _________________ 87' 924s (944 Wide Body) Project

I have the 924 gold portfolio book and there is an article in there of a guys supercharged 924. this was from the 70s and early 80s articles. they used to sell supercharger kits made for the 924.
there were also aftermarket turbo kits for the na 924. _________________ 78 924 sold.
