Hello all
I am just wondering whether sport seats from a Rabbit GTI or VW Scirocco will fit in a 924? As it is only 4 bolts it looks like an easy fix. Has anybody tried this before?
Thanks

You would need to replace the seat mounting frame from the VW seats.
The outside mount for the VW seats is on the side rail of the chassis, while the Porsche mounts are all on the floor.
Maybe you could unbolt the seat mounts from the Porsche seat frame (yes the seat mounts are bolted to the frame of the Porsche seat), and adapt them to the VW seat. |

Thanks for the info
It looks like that approach may work. I can get VW seats from an auto wrecker alot cheaper than recovering or replacing the Porsche Seats.

I'm quite pleased with the seats in my '84 GTI, they have a bit more lateral support than those in a 924 do. Then again, any aftermarket bucket seat has more lateral support than the stock 924 seats do. Look into a set of Corbeaus or Sparco Sprint/Speed seats, they're $200-$300 a piece I think, and are a great upgrade. _________________ '81 931 in various states of assembly |
