Back in January I bought a 1985 924S and posted some concerns about white smoke and possible other faults. I had it checked out at a performance garage and guess what, no problem. Just needed a new fuel pump and in 6-12 months will need some routine maintenance, discs, steering UJ. I don't see white smoke now, maybe a little on start up but quite normal.
This car is fast and runs great. Still have not managed to reach it's top speed, keep chickening out but reckon on 140 mph without too much problem. It's a joy to drive, the amazing thing is people think you are loaded or something because it is a Porsche but don't seem to realise even good condition examples can be picked up for the price of a well used modern family car.
Only downside is fuel cost over here and just waiting for the garage bills, but well worth it.....
