The machinists around here just don't seem to be very creative...

I need to mate the Ford EDIS crank trigger wheel to my stock crank pulley:

I'm thinking that having an aluminum "spacer" made on a lathe will be the best way to go. Something similar to the fine work this guy has done:

http://home.att.net/~basic-4/megasquirt/EDISAdapter.html

I shouldn't have any clearance issues in front of the pulley to worry about since I'm replacing the stock rad fans with a more efficient and lower profile unit. I like how the guy above uses a light press fit between the spacer and pulley. I also would like the spacer to fit inside the stock pulley such that the crank bolt will go through the spacer, then the stock pulley, then thread into the crank. I also want the spacer to slide into the stock pulley somewhat tightly so that it is decently centered. I imagine any machinist should be able to balance the whole assembly after it's all fabbed up.

So who can I send my crank pulley, trigger wheel, and money to?!

Hey folks,
I was quoted a pretty steep(!) number by Helstrm's guy. Perhaps he misunderstood just exactly what was needed. It's really a pretty simple piece. However, I found a pretty impressive local machinist who I just dropped off my pulley & trigger wheel to. He's pretty backed up, but I should see something around mid-May. Once I hear what the pricetag looks like (which will be unquestionably less than what I was quoted previously), I'll see if you guys want me to have him pop off a couple extras. It should be easy and relatively cheap for him after having made the first one.

Stay tuned...

I just about have my fuel rail jigs finished and will be offering them for sale soon and I am planning to come up with an easy and hopefully cheap way to mount the EDIS rings like yours. I'll be interested in the price your guy comes up with. Cheers,

Todd

What he told me was high too... But I don't have the experience he does. Sorry about that.

Thanks for the offer Lizard- I think my guy out here has it all set, though it will take a little while. Hopefully he can bang these off pretty cheaply once the first once is made up and I'll pick up a couple for board members.

Although, seeing the zero response endwrench is getting on his bolt up fuel rail, I'm wondering if EFI and crank triggered ignitions are all talk around this board?

I responded in a PM to endwrench. I'm considering EFI when I rebuild the 931 motor later this spring/summer.
