Thinking about clutch replacement for the 931 wide body...
Anyone out there using a Centerforce?
Anyone using a Spec?
How about any of the stuff from clutchnet.com?
My application will be street-able Hi-Performance
Thoughts, comments, suggestions??? _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

Which stage? Oh yeah, there is only one, which is not going to effectively handle the power in this application I am affraid. |

Yeah, stock. Maybe upgrade to the 911 pressure plate, as John H has done IIRC. But not Centerforce, heard too many stories of those grenading. I have yet to decide what to do with mine; one alternative might be:

IIRC a coworker has used their clutch on his car, which makes more power than the 931 will easily, and it's lasted surprisingly well (for drag racing, mind you). _________________ Vaughan Scott

I too have a clutch to do and I am leaning more toward the temp fix of a 911 PP with Ford disc and will do major upgrade when engine comes out for rebuild/modification.
But as far as performance kits are concerned I am leaning towards Spec http://horsepowerfreaks.com/price/Porsche/924/performance/Clutches-Flywheels/Clutch_Kits
Cheaper than stock until you get to the puck type, which is no good for the street. |
