Hey I was just about to start my 87 924s for the first time this spring and I can't open the hood, anfd just to make matters worse the battery is dead so I can't even move it. I checked the hood release lever and the cable is still connected to the the handel, if anybody has any suggestions can you get back to me.

On my car, the bolt that is located on the hood, that enters the locking mechanism, was bent. I used 2 hours opening my hood...

hmmm, tough one.. the latching system is pretty effective, and similiar in design to the hatch locking system. i want to say you might be able to get to it from underneath on the "S", but i cant remember for sure...
if theres tension on the hood release lever when you pull it, the hood just might be misaligned and "stuck", some gentle prying while someone else pulls the release lever could work , however its very easy to damage the car this way , but you might not have any other choice... hopefully some one else will have a better idea though..
