|
|
I have an '88 924S US car. As with other 924/944 cars I have owned, the oil pressure gauge always reads 5 bar + when the engine is running. Recently, the gauge housing cracked and a bought a new VDO OP Gauge that reads in PSI. When I installed it, it also reads MAX psi!!!\\
Where do I look next? OP sending unit?
Thanks _________________ 88 924S - soon to be a replica 924GT |

Unhook the wire from the OP sender and see what the gauge reads (with the motor running).
If it's still 5, you most likey have a short in the wiring from the sender to the gauge.
If it reads 0, you have a bad OP sender. _________________ White 87 924S "Ghost"

Does the pressure read at max. when ignition is on but engine not running? - mine did this & I just replaced the pressure sender. _________________ current - '90 944S2, '00 986S,
