Did anyone here buy the gts headlight conversion kit from gt-racing. I've been trying to contact them thru email but they don't respond. Maybe because they don't ship to other countries,or something like that. But still kind of rude. Since i very much want a complete kit, and they seem to be the only ones that can produce them. I've tried everywhere here in the netherlands and the only problem there always is, is that nobody can get there hands on the ABS clear covers. So I really really want to contact gt- racing. Anyone been there or bougth something there?

They do ship to other countries.

Even then they won't answer the phone but leave a message and eventually someone will call you back.

I had their headlight buckets/covers on my car. Just so you know they are pretty much for "decorative purposes only" - meaning do not plan on getting much light from these to illuminate the road at night. I had to install a set of PIAA driving lights within the front bumper to light the way at night. Also you will need to configure a mounting system to secure the clear covers to the headlight buckets. The best we could come up with was a 3 point mounting system with 1 bracket in each of the upper corners and 1 bracket in the middle on the lower portion of the bucket. These were screwed into the bucket then we screwed the clear covers onto the bracket. At 115+mph they did not fly off.

I'm probably purchasing them from Lindsey racing, they DO respond to their email and gave me a 10 % discount. I like what i see at their site, HP heaven... or something like that. anyway they get their fiberglass kits from gt racing.

I'll second what cwr-fl says regarding teh lighst - I had set in the car in the early 90's and too them out in the end as the amount of light was not much.

I had supposedly best Hella rectanular headlight unit availalbe at the time and 130 watt high beams and still the light output on the road wasn't even as good as the original lights on low beam (55 watts).

What do you guys think about this Im kicking the idea around
and thats install some circular aftermarket lights into the bumper
by drilling say a 3" hole on each side of the licence plate these lights Ive been looking at could be easily mounted inside the bumper. I think
ited look good and help light the road more. Though a 944
valance like I have helps alot too.

When my car was a road car I made my own.
I took the standard top covers and cut the middle out leaving a 1/4 inch wide rim and pop riveted lexan to them. This gave the shape.

I took 2 Kawasaki KLR 650 Trailbike headlights and used those as they had both main and dip beam plus sidelights. They even had a yolk to adjust the angle of them.

I made alloy brakets to pick up from the holes in the body for the original light linkage. I then fitted the covers with small brackets out of sight and there you go, proper headlights!

easy enough jus get another set of covers

Guess 1/4 inch is about all you coud go though you could go closer with the top & bottem lines and have the sides close er for securen the lexan thated work. I was just laughen to my self as I recall emailin Simsport asken him how he made the lights as they were described on a web site I saw a while back. Ive also seen race cars that had nobumper and the turn sigs were mounted vertically in the opening left by no bumper. jus a turn sig
on each side. guess the opening in the middle with no bumper could
be used for a air inlet to a intercooler and bigger raidator and lelectric
fans.Ill keep my bumper & add round 3 or 4 inch lites.

i've always thought these cars would look better, and get better lighting if you retro-fit the lights off of a nissan 300z, the tail lights aren't to bad lookin either. that is, if you don't mind bastardizing your car with non-porsche parts

you want to bastardize the rear lights..you wouldnt want to mess with them rear lites those look pretty bitchen as they are already bitched out I suppose.

On a serious note doing the headlight mod only adds a style
points.

I like the idea of having 2 50w driving lights there. Came with the car and I think most ROW cars had them.
