What besides the heater/ventilation fan is running under the hood when the key is on but the engine is not started? (?fuel pump?)
I was putting in a radio last night and had the key on for quite a while and noticed there is something running constantly besides the heater fan. This morning when I went to start the car I couldn’t give it gas in neutral without it dying and it smoked a bit. After a few minutes every thing was fine and it starts/runs fine now, but question is, did I flood it or what? by leaving the key on for that length of time??

Possibly, if you had the AC on, the radiator cooling fan or if the car is injected the frequency valve. Just guessing.

No, not the A/C, I did look under the hood for a moment last night but gave up trying to figure it out as I wanted to finish the radio job. It sounds like a motor but it's not a fan.
