What besides the heater/ventilation fan is running under the hood when the key is on but the engine is not started? (?fuel pump?)
I was putting in a radio last night and had the key on for quite a while and noticed there is something running constantly besides the heater fan. This morning when I went to start the car I couldn’t give it gas in neutral without it dying and it smoked a bit. After a few minutes every thing was fine and it starts/runs fine now, but question is, did I flood it or what? by leaving the key on for that length of time?? _________________ 78-924 red , my first real car at age 44.

Possibly, if you had the AC on, the radiator cooling fan or if the car is injected the frequency valve. Just guessing. _________________ 1980 924 turbo |

No, not the A/C, I did look under the hood for a moment last night but gave up trying to figure it out as I wanted to finish the radio job. It sounds like a motor but it's not a fan. _________________ 78-924 red , my first real car at age 44.
