Check out the web site costs about 35.00 bucks
a quart...
http://www.autoaircolors.com/index.htm
Im really thinking on trying some out.
As I want blue fuchs and two tone paint yellow &
blue on the car. Staying with the bahama yellow
and the blue will be not quite as dark as the blue
on a pepsi can no lighter than that though darker
than what I got kind of like Denver Nugget colors
http://www.nba.com/nuggets/ then Ill put a overall
urethane clear over it no metallics or pearls though
I might try a trtansparent yellow and blue over the
base colors before the urethane clear. The urethane
clear is a really strong paint that resists chips really
well Ive used it before.

This link will explain a little better and has the cost also.
http://www.dixieart.com/Auto_Air_Series_4200.html

and heres the color charts.
http://www.autoaircolors.com/color_chart01.htm

I think over the yellow I got now Id go with transparent
sun gold. As for the blue ited be the semi opaque proccess
blue with transparent teal blue over that then like I said urethane
clear the whole thing. Of course blue fuchs all 4 the same like the
yellow ones in the rear are now.

I found out when the auomotive industry experimented with this stuff
like the dodge neons did for instance they had a problem with the paint
peeling off leaving the primer grey undercoating exsposed so I dont know
seems its not gonna happen. House of color should make a yellow and blue
transparent paint. I dont want no candy or metalic just a transparent shade over the base colors for added depth suppose I could even add a bit to the
first clear coats if thats the case Icould just buy a pint of each transparant color. Im gonna stay with centari by dupont for the base colors as a quart
only costs 33 bucks. Of course Ill need hardener and the correct reducer
depending on temperature.

Joe ..if you go with chroma base you could do all your colors in 1 day...you can tape on base coat after an hour dry time...the best part is you don't have to sand before the next coat....get all your colors down then clear it all with no paint ridges either.

I used the water based primer in the past....yup..The top coat peeled

i've worked in the automotive paint field for a while now, currently doing warranty/service paint on custom RV's. we use water based primer on all our spot ins, and have never had problems with the paint peeling off, color bleeding, or reacting to other "layers" of the paint job. and Joe, if you were to use something like House of Kolor candy, say Pagan Gold over your Bahama Yellow for example, you could get a very deep looking paint job. although candies are very tricky to spray, and aren't cheap. good luck with what ever you decide on, and remember "A paint job can only look as good as the body work beneath it."
