Hi all,
i'm new to this board and i'm very new to 924 world having bought 924 '83 last week. It needs plenty of work, but here is the main problem i'm facing right now. It would not start when worm. i have jumper cables connected directly to the fuel pump, and usually i need to wait like 5 minutes before i can start the car after i 've switched on the pump ( i assume it is building up the pressure).
i have restored the original electrical scheme, and it started up fine... for a few times and then i have got back to the same routine. i have changed the accamulator. The same story it started up a few times as expected while accamulator was extra fresh and that was it.
Sorry if it was discussed on this board a hundred times i just did not find it. You can imagine it gets very annoying to wait for 5+ minutes to start the car each time, definetelly no way to use this car to rob the banks. |

Sounds like you have bank robbery on the mind - better leave the car as it is to keep yourself out of trouble. _________________ "..it's made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff."

Ha ha! Just kidding. That was a good one, right? Yeah...
Try here - http://www.924.org/techsection/GarageFAQ.htm#hot-start
Until you get it fixed, try holding the throttle fully open while cranking until it starts (, but don't crank for more than about 15 secs. at a time). The warm-hot start problem is vapor lock caused by a leaky injector, cold start valve and/or check valve dropping the pressure that needs to be held in the lines to prevent it. -And holding the throttle open causes more fuel to flow which may clear the vapor lock sooner. _________________ "..it's made in Germany.
