I just had my 924 painted and bought a new hood badge but you must have to hands the size of an infant to get to where the holes are to slide emblem fasteners in place. Has anyone done this successfully? Once that's done plus an a/c charge, I'm good to go and will post pics. Thx.

let me guess, they sold you the metal fasteners for the back right? as youve figured out, those wont work .... the original retainers were compression fit sleeves, push them in from the top, you cant get those either anymore. so you either have to find a substitute (some sort of flexi micro tubing maybe?), or use a bonding agent. I think i used butyl (sunroof sealant) last time i secured a badge. maybe some one else has a better solution, but that worked fine for me.. _________________ Eric

Thanks for that confirmation. I knew something was wrong with the fastener idea. I may look for small id/od tubing to crush into the holes with the post on the emblem and use a bonding agent to be sure it stays in place. Today my Awai CD player decided to retire after 5 years of service so there is still one more thing to dink with. |
