Particularly, I need to know what a 78's timing is supposed to be. I'd like someone with an intact underhood sticker to tell me what it says. Thanks fellas.

Haynes says 3° ATDC, timing mark '-3' with hoses connected. Is that another Haynes mistake needing correction? pg 123

Its 3 deg ATDC which makes -3 correct.
If it was BTDC then ???

No I don't think so. With the vacuum hose attached you get a vacuum retard deal happening. The vacuum retard is about 6-8 degrees.
I agree its not very clear and caused a lot of frustration for me for a long time until someone called it out a while back on my similar post.

hmm maybe I should double check my car again, I was pretty sure it said 3 BTDC.
