So whats the deal... I read the previous posts here and there.
As I can tell from the the TDI would require a new Flywheel or Flywheel modification?
Anyone get the exact skinny on this? I tried to follow the posts, seems to be mostly negative over the flywheel issue.
But what about the rest?
Just thought I would revisit this, since we are talking about stroking the motor on the cheap. |

well the flywheel would either have to have the holes and center hole filled then re drilled, and added a hole in the center for the pilot bearing as the VW crank wouldnt have the spot for a Pilot bearing (na cable clutch for pilot only) added, probably opt for 931 style pilot bearing though,
as far as spinning off a new flywheel it wouldnt be that bad, esp if you managed to get a group buy and then you could also make it to use the ford 2.3L presure plate at the same time (not opt on 931) I would recommend if fabricating a flywheel though a aluminum plate would be the best.
does anyone know what the overall diameter the 924 flywheel is as I have access to a metal lathe at work and may just build one if the lathe is big enough. _________________ 3 928s, |
