Hi. I am about to purchase my first 924S but would really appreciate your expertise on the following issue I noted with the car I would like to buy.

The drivers side carpet is soaked with water, from where I do not know. It does not appear to be leaking from the sunroof or through the doors. Does anybody have any idea;

1) of some areas where the leak may be? (e.g. windscreen)
2) is it expensive to fix permanantly?
3) are leaks common on 924's?

FYI, here is some background to the car. The car is in great condition overall, no rust (bar some minor bubbling on the sunroof), has done 100,000 miles, has all it's MOT's & a full service history. The car drives very well & feels tight, but the brakes are a bit spongy. The car has been garaged since a trip to LeMans in June this year. The sale price is a firm £2,000.

Thank you in advance for any & all help you can provide. I look forward to chatting with you in the near future.

Ray.

Check the drains in the battery and fuse compartments in the engine bay. These are known to clog and cause leaks into the cabin.

Also check that it's not coming out of the heating ducts at the bottom. That's where mine is leaking. One day I'll put a drain hose on it and be done with it.

Also check that the battery tray itself doesn't have any holes.

Thanks again guys for all the information. I will be having another look at the car over the weekend (hopefully!). I will let you know how things go.
