It has come apart where the hatch closes with the 2 hatch pins. Is there a strong glue I can use to seal it up? _________________ I want a 924! |

From everything I've read, once this happens the hatch is shot. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

Click the 924 Technical Section link above to go to the 924.org tech section and then click the Bodywork link. _________________ 1979 924 (Gone to a better place)

I had the hatch on my weissachs do this, I took it into a local glass shop and they resealed it, they couldn't get all the trim back in place, said it would have to be totally redone, but they did get a good seal again, and cost me about $30. _________________ Life is to short to be looking for something? |

You CAN repair your hatch.
Many guys on Rennlist have done it. Here is one thread, there are more threads contained within this one so you can check out the different procedures that have been used.

Hope this helps. _________________ MJ

You can do a temporary repair, or you can pay a glass shop to do a temporary repair, but no repair has been permanent. No glass shop will provide a warranty on a glue bond repair job on a 924 or 944.
Once the original factory glue bond between the glass and the frame is gone, the longest lasting reapir would be a new factory hatch glass (costs more than the car is worth), or try to find a clean used rear hatch glass that has not separated, or do a repair, and know that it will need to be redone every other year or so. |

I see you live in Canada, if your close enough, I will gladly give you a new hatch for your car, with or without a spoiler, I have a few to spare, and don't mind, most have spoilers and good frame seals. Let me know, I located just south on the border about 20 minutes from Surrey, B.C. _________________ Life is to short to be looking for something? |
