|
|
ive been looking at an assortment of euro side markers, but cant find any close ups.. ive also noticed several different locations for these while going over those pics i have found..some saeem to be right on the body line on a few GT's , others seem a bit above it.. some seemed squared off, some are more rounded..
anyhow, im actually thinking of building my own using plexi and super bright LED's , or updating a cheap set of universal marker lights..or just buying a set, but i cant decide..and it would be great if some one could post or send me some close up pics...
thanks in advance... _________________ Eric

Different markets and different year models had the marker lights. The actual location may vary depending on when and where the car was sold. For example, my German-delivered model does not have them, but I think the UK model of the same year did have them. This may account for "descrepancies" in some of the photos you've seen. _________________ '79 Eurospec 931 |

Have you had a look through the cars in the registry? My '79 Aus/UK car doesn't have them. _________________ 1979 924 (Gone to a better place)

This are the only pics I have of the latest edition...
Was it common for an ROW car to have these rear markers and the fish -eye US sped ones up front? Everything else on the car is Euro/ROW. _________________ MJ

I haven't seen those rear ones before.
As for the US front markers they were fortunately confined to North America. _________________ 1979 924 (Gone to a better place)

That's what I thought Peter, but this car has Euro bumpers, those rear sidemarkers and the VIN comes back Euro/ROW?
Maybe PO replaced the fenders once in the US? Car was imported from factory according to tag. _________________ MJ

I believe ROW cars came in without markers and in order to have them registered changes had to be made. Cat, glass and markers therefore differences in shapes. Mine had a couple of holes drilled on the sides and the round markers put on. _________________ "Never let them see you sweat"

I have a Euro model...German coins through out...so it may have been there till at least 87 (oldest coin)....anyway...I only have marker light on the fenders..none on the quarter panels..and have the car stipped....no sign that there were any installed there either.

porschev, your car is an absolute inspiration as to how good the 924 can look. Your car is so modern and sleek, I hope mine ends up looking as good as yours. _________________ 1979 931 with a 350 chev

Thanks Mac I think it looks modern too. Most people who know sqat about the 924's think it's a 90's car, not a 76 as mine is. _________________ 1976 924
