Hey guys, just got my 931 turbo today, it's worse than I remember. Guess that's what happens when you fall in love, you look beyond the sh$t. The interior is now...completly stripped. I am currently looking for an 82 931 complete dash, without instruments. I am also in need of a front valence, preferably in some sort of bluish tinge. I also need a boost gauge since the seller was so kind to remove before my purchase, much like everything else he removed. I am also curious as to the price of a driver seat as I currently have two passenger seats. I would be willing to trade? Oh what the h$ll, anyone have a complete interior? with carpets that aren't full of spongey poly fill crap? _________________ Working on cars is restful for they have neither conflict nor emotion.

boost gauge didnt come stock on the 931, porsche thought it wasnt "necessary." so if there was one in there, it was aftermarket.. Porsche did sell boost gauges at some point however, but their the same basic VDO stock, with the exception of some green faced gauges they offered for a short time (still by VDO though.) _________________ Eric

I have a complete 944 85.5 interior in brown. No seat tears and the interior is very nice and no tears or stains. Cracked block forces sale of parts. I believe all the parts fit without a problem. Except for the newer type dash.

I have a bunch of brand new brown factory interior parts that I was planning on installing on my 81 924, till I bought a 87 924S. Included are a brown dashboard for a 80-85 924 or 931 (was in the box till I needed the box to ship another dashboard), matching glove box cover, a center console instrument bezel (the part where the gauges are housed), windshield washer stalk (might be the turnsignal stalk, still in the box, one or the other), right rear interior passenger quarter panel (part that covers where the speaker sits).
These parts had a factory retail price of over $2500 when you could buy them. I need to replace the dashboard in the 924S. I would accept a $1000, or a factory new black dashboard for the 924S straight across in a trade. |

I've got a complete black interior carpet set (cockpit and cargo area), minus the vertical pieces on the outboard sides of the footwells, and the vertical pieces in front of the rear seats. No tears, no burns, but it is aged. Also have black A-pillar trim, the trim across the top of the windshield and the trim that goes above the doors, between the door tops and the sunroof. _________________ '79 Eurospec 931 |

just an "FYI": the rear hatch carpet from any 924/944/951 with a power hatch release will not fit the earlier cars. the left "flap" will hang short due to the later models having the power hatch relase motor parts running though that area. the contour is different enough to leave a sizable gap.. _________________ Eric

? The left flap ? The motor and linkages all sit on the right side. The carpet I put in my '79 came from an '86 and the only "issue" I had was that the cut of the cargo area by the fuel filler neck where it overlayed the piece coming off the back seat was a little different. Without also replacing the piece on the seat back, there would have been a gap showing the underlying sheetmetal & sound absorbing material.
It almost goes without saying that if one decides that the existing carpet has to go, it's a good find to locate a complete set in decent shape, even if there are some fitment differences. _________________ '79 Eurospec 931 |

I have a decent black drivers seat, if I remember the stiches had come loose along one part of the bottom, it is already boxed up, so I dont have pics, I could open it up I guess.
I would let it go cheap and since I am driving up north, as far atleast as Michigan I could drop it off or meet you if you wanted to drive down.... but I imagine that is to far.
Well anyway its a thought. |

perhaps it was the right side, its been awhile.. but tried to fit the hatch carpet from my 87 924s into my 931, and it wasnt even close a proper fit on one side..of that much im sure..just pointing out that there are some differences , and these should be checked out first..id hate to see some one go through the trouble of buying and shipping , only to find out later its not quite right.. i prefer the later carpet and material over the earlier myself, and if that hatch carpet from my 87 wouldve fit evenclose to " right," it would be in my 931 right now
perhaps when ESC944 stops by with his 944, we can check it against my 931..maybe it was a 924S only issue?? _________________ Eric

I have a complete interior if you are interested.
The dash from an '82 that has a new ABS dash cover installed, black center console from an '82 with the later 944 style AC controls (no face plate), black trim pieces all around including mint rear interior quarter panels, black manual window door panels with factory round speaker holes (from a '76 model), black carpet kit (needs to be dyed, but I have 2 cans of SEM black that I can include), black sunroof panel, New Black headliner kit with adhesive, and a good driver's seat ( that you could get new upholstery for both seats for $250) and your interior would be pretty much complete and near mint.
PM your offer if interested. _________________ MJ
