Vince sent me some printed pics of his cgt conversion so I could scan them and post them on the board for future reference in case someone gets the bug to do their own conversion (like myself). Looks good Vince!

BTW, can the board member who has Vince`s pictures of the flares being added on please PM me? I would like to get a hold of these pictures so that they can be archived here or on my website when I get a chance to update it.

Thanks...JPab

First picture is how the car looked before anything was done.
Second fitting parts and filling in the holes such as the right side mirror holes. Please note the size of the cuts that were to be made to the rear flares. Only cut the outside metal.
Third bolted on the fenders for fit and I used the pushed in bumper with the shocks welded smaller.
Fourth temporarily bolted the rears for fit which was not the greatest. You have to fit them and make adjustments. Sanding helps to get the parts closer to the body. By the way I cut the body and slotted it and folded the body under and welded them closed. What you have is pie shaped parts that have to be filled in. On the inside I fiberglassed them so that they are waterproofed.
Fifth marked the place I wanted the flares to fit because once they are removed you do not have reference marks. I used masking tape.
Suspension was fixed with refinished Fuchs and race tires. You can read the procedure I used somewhat if you go back to the index on this site and go to suspension. You will find my article on how to remove clearcoat.
Sixth? mounted Euro rear bumper using the euro mounts and filled in the welds such as the ones under the hatch, in front of the tailights and under the tailights.
Seventh painted the car in the driveway of the guy doing the painting. Sunday morning on a main drap.
Eighth finished car pictures note front US bumper with large Euro bumper rubbers. I use this bumper when I park on the street which is not often.
I hope you like them.

Very slick! I'm looking to do the same thing. Actually I saw a GTR kit somewhere, did the place you got that kit have the 924 GTR also? Where did you get the kit? How much was the kit in total?

I sent you a PM today. Call or email me for details. Everyone on the list is tired of my explaining the how toos. I will be glad to help with the conversion and who will do the maintenance work on your car the cheapest and the best. Also join the Porsche club if you want to do autocrossing, rallies, Drivers Ed or track driving of just showing your car. Remind me about an application. NY PCA has about 2000 members.
