I'm almost done with My 4.1 Turbo V-6 swap. Drove it around the block and man this this is fast, even with no boost!

I have been working on this just over a year.
I was getting very impatient so I opted for manual brakes and steering for now. I have a complete set of 86 944 turbo brakes I want to put in but need to work out the master cylinder fit.

Check out my website with the latest shots!!

It has a screen show of a couple different pictures of the Buick V-6 engine bay and the IFC 924 Carrera GT bodykit. Still need to paint but at least now I can try to pass the smog test!

well see all that effort has paid off,
well I would definatly put the 5 bolt setup in there ASAP as the braking power is WAY better
as for the booster, I though I read somewhere about using a smaller gm type with the MC to make it fit, try searching the board on that I am not positive on that though

just looking at the pics and they do look good but on one of the pages "top of engine bay

The stock IC and pipes are too close to the front so the headlight motor assembly is out for now.

Fixed halogen lights and clear coers in my future..." - missing a V in covers

and question can you actually close the hood the top IC charge pipe look alittle high to be able to close it, oh have you added a little hump to it in that spot?

the 3 middle guages look very sharp, but would recommend removing the 2 out of the radio speaker grill and fab up a custom piece for them, maybe mounting them on the A pillar

but yah it looks really nice

also what tranny are you using, 951 w/ LSD??

Already have 4 wheel disk brakes from 85 944.

Thanks for spell check.

The hood does close OK, custom fiberglass with raised cowl.

As for vacum booster. The smallest I have ever seen was on a porsche and it is 7" and it still does not fit. Mustang's with the 32 valve heads have a trick hydroboost setup I'm going to copy.

86 951 transmission but no LSD, at least not yet!

Did you fabricate that speaker cover to get gauges in there? It looks really nice.

I used a piece of alluminum. Formed it around the plastic cover and epoxy glued it. Then drilled the holes and painted it.

Need the existing one because the mounts are kind of funky.

Thanks!

I've seen a 2 guage A-pillar for a 944 in the magazines... I'm sure you could make it fit your 931

A bunch of us guys on Rennlist got together to make those dual gauge A-pillars for the 944 series with a company in NC called LoTek.

I was the one who supplied the donor pillars to cast from, and worked with LoTek on the prototype.

I can tell you that they do indeed fit the 924 - I test fit it on my 931. There is minimal notching to be done under the dash end of the pillar cover, unseen when mounted to use on the 924.

I have driven the car and dyno'd it too.

Unfortunately my clutch gave out again!

Open issues are the clutch and bodywork on the carrera GT kit.

The HP numbers were disappointing to me. I let off of it under 5000RPM. I need to do a run and rev it to about 5500 to get better numbers.

This is also only at about 18lbs of boost.

I am actually trying to figure out how to make less torque and more turbo lag!
