| Does anyone know where to purchase the foglights, turnsignal lights, and the little bumper guards for the 924 carerra gt/r for the front spoiloler/bumper? I was guesing that turn signal lights from the stock 924 could fit in the new spoiloer/ bumper and the 944 foglights could fit in there but am not possitive. If anyone could give me any information it would be greatly appreciated! |

I'm not positive, but I think the pieces you are looking for are the same as what are found in the European bumper set up. Not impossible to locate, but harder to find and more expensive. Perhaps some of our friends from Down Under or the UK can help you out. _________________ '79 Eurospec 931 |

Here is a copy of a post that I did a long while ago. It needs to become common knowledge that The North American turn signal lenses are not the same as the Euro versions (this should be added to the FAQ I will not be around forever). Yes the housings are the same but the lenses are not. They can be used on the Euro/Carrera GT Bumpers but do not look as good. This is because the Euro lenses follow the same contours as the driving lamps while the North American versions are flat. I have pics of them on my web site. See below

The euro turn lights and lenses are actuially different from the US units. The 924 and 944 turn light housing have a curve that follow the shape of the bumper rather than just a curved lense as shown in the photo shown above by 81 turbo.
I don't have aphoto to show you but if you look on page 92-9 of factory manual you can see the shape _________________ Remember a Porsche is not just for Christmas,

The US unit is the same as the euro version (except the lenses of course). It too follows the curve of the bumper. By using the term "Flat" we are only referring to the fact the that the lenses does not have the same contour as the Euro unit (shown above in the photos deeper on the top)
The US unit is not "flat" it too curves with the bumper just like the Euro units (in the pictures I posted I used the same housing for each lense, I wasn't about to take the whole thing out of my bumper) and just swapped the lenses. I have a set of each and they are identical. The US items do fit the Euro bumper; they just don’t look good next to the driving lamps. |

OK, try this... The fixtures that hold the parking lights/blinkers are the same between US/Euro market, but the amber lenses that cover them are different. The shape of the Euro lens is such that it's "lines" blend the unit in the bumper. The Euro bumper has built-in driving lights, and smaller bumperettes. The lens is deeper at the top than at the bottom, wheras the US unit is the same depth across it's face. Look at 81Turbo's photos again and you'll understand (the photos are looking at the whole assembly from the side, not from the top/bottom)
I don't have a photo that plainly shows things, but click the one below (left side Euro bumper) and if you look, you can see that the lens is thicker/deeper at the top than at the bottom.

I may have a real rubber set. Email me off the list.
I also molded them out of fiberglass. You can paint them flat black. _________________ "Never let them see you sweat"
