|
|
Need a little help with this electrical conundrum: on my Feb 1982 924 Lux (UK car) I found a relay in a separate socket (not with the other relays - it was hanging loose near the centre console on the left hand side of the car). I am guessing this is the power window relay. It's a 12v 30 amp Hella part (4RA 003510-0 , with a four pin configuration. It has three vertical and one horizontal pin, with the horizontal at the bottom it is numbered 87, the vertical at the top is 86, and left and right vertical are 85 and 30 respectively.
Now - all power windows don't work, this relay is rusted up inside and likely to be the cause, but I don't think this is the right pin configuration anyway. How does this match up with you guys' window relay configurations? If I am going to get a new part I need the right one. What prompted this query was that a Porsche parts supplier told me his stock of window relays were as follows: bottom horizontal pin 87, top vertical pin 30, left and right vertical were 85 and 86 respectively - 30a 12v also.
Sorry for the boring query!

| No idea why that smiley came up - there is supposed to be an eight where the smiley is, so the part number reads zero eight at the end |

An "8" followed by a ")" is the code for the "cool" smiley with sunglasses. Put a space between the two to avoid it (or disable smilies).
My power window relay's in the same location and it's a "Schier 07.1000.00 (12V max. 25A)" with the date 12/80. Under the VW-Audi logo is the part number "321.919.505", then "S J R" and "Made in Germany".
The pins and their orientation (looking at the bottom of the relay the same way you apparently did) are -
top-center, vertical - 30
middle-left, vertical - 85
middle-right, vertical - 86
bottom-center, horizontal - 87
85-86 are to the electromagnet that opens/closes the switch
30-87 are to the switch itself
So, my relay is different from your Hella, but with the same pin config that your parts supplier described, also mine's also a US spec car. Don't know why they might have been designed and wired differently, but who knows?...Obviously they may have been made the same and you just have the wrong relay as you're suspecting. _________________ "..it's made in Germany.
