Found this on http://techtonicstuning.com/ website. I believe these fit the 924 as well. $60 is a great deal! $3 on shipping! Wow!

That is the manually or statically adjusted cam gear, not the famous (or infamous) Franco automatically adjusting cam gear.

You are correct. I have two of the Franco cam gears- one for backup.... if I can ever get this car back on the road...

Jon---sell me that back up?

I've been looking for one for ages.

I even talked to the man himself, but he was no help.

$500 is the least I'd take for it. These things weren't cheap when I bought them.

OK then sounds "fairly" reasonable.

What say you about our other discussion?

I assume that you have one mounted on the POS motor you are battling with?

Or have you opted not to V8 it?

I'm willing to offer further incentives knowing that you have something else I want.

Talk to me Jon, talk to me.

I am still looking at both ideas. I want to get this 4 cyl working, but as I said- I'm near the end of my ropes. I hate spending any more money on this 4 cyl project to have it only go to waste but it's just something I must do. Currently I have one mounted to my POS motor.

Now- here is what I would do. If you wanted to loan this out to develop your own for resale to the 924/VW community I would be very interested in doing so to keep these products alive. George Franco unfortunately will not sell any more due to cost of production. If you wanted to communicate with Franco directly and see if he would sell you the rights or give you the info for production that would be kewl....

Jon---Get out of my head. You are freakin me out.

Seriously, that would be my intention, as always.

Let me scope it out and see what I will need to do to reproduce.

Meanwhile, I'll look into the legality of reproduction and see if there are still property rights or patent laws to deal with.

BTW--BOMZ Racing makes a really nice looking statically adjustable gear too. I picked one up last year. Much, much lighter than the one listed here. I have one of those too.
