Last night I was changing the belts on my 81 924 NA. I was following all the Haynes instructions for replacing the A/C belt, and ended up stripping the nut on the banjo bolt that is used to adjust tension.
Anybody have one of these laying around? Links to photos:

By the way, DON'T do what Haynes says...which is to tighten the nut on the banjo bolt all the way until you can get the belt off. It doesn't move the compressor enough to slip the belt over the pulley, and you'll probably do what I did. It's just as easy to remove the entire banjo bolt by loosening the large bolt that attaches it through the bracket to the engine block. That way, the compresser moves freely and the belt is easily replaced. Live and learn! |

| I was surprised how cheap this part was from the dealer...$8.95. On order, will be here next week. |
