Hi!
Can anyone tell me how to remove the door panels??? I unscrewed everything, and dismatled the window arm, but still it feels that there is something screwed to the door. I was thinking of trying to by pass the "Only Lock by Key" on the drivers door, so i could install the key-less entry system. Has anyone done such a thing before ???
Thanx in advance guys

There was a thread, not long ago, which explained this. I haven't tried myself, but there are clips that are easy to snap if you are rough. Look for the thread, it had some good tips, that I can't remember |

There are several plastic clips located around the outside of the panel. They are pressed into the metal frame of the door and should be removed with a special fork shaped trim too. They can be removed with a screwdriver, but be careful, they like to break as well as pull out from the backside of the panel. _________________ MJ

There are 3 screws along the bottom of the door "pockets". There are 3 more screws that hold the armrest to the door frame. There are about 10 plastic "pins" that go into the door frame along the outside edge of the panel. Also, you have to unscrew the door lock "pin", as well as a single pan-head screw at the front of the panel and one at the back which are covered by plastic covers. Once all those are removed, you must lift the panel to unhook a "hook" that is attached to the top of the arm rest hand grip. This "hook" goes behind the door skin and is really what prevents you from pulling the door panel off when you close the door.
When reinstalling, be extra sure that this hook actually hooks the door frame, otherwise after closing the door from the inside for a dozen or so times, you will pull the armrest handle off the panel. _________________ '79 Eurospec 931 |
