Hey folks...haven't been around in a few weeks, so how's everyone doing?!

I've been driving the 924S on "borrowed time" so to speak. The clutch has been giving me little hints that it was on it's last leg and I've been ignoring it. Finally, on the way home from a Red Sox game last week (oh boy, I know that one's gonna' open up a can of worms) the clutch pedal stuck on the floor and resolutely refused to pop back up. I managed to pull it back up by hand and re-engage the clutch. Fortunately, shifting a manual without the clutch while you're moving is easily accomplished and I was able to drive the sixty miles or so home from Boston; no stops on Route 2 from Boston to my house so I was able to match engine RPM's to the tranny and shift normally. Once I pulled into the driveway and stopped however....Well, basically it wasn't moving again.

So anyway, bottom line is that the rubber disc disintegrated -I pulled a few pieces of it out through the bottom of the clutch-housing- and jammed the release-lever in place. Fortunately, it jammed in the engaged position. So now I'm doing the clutch job I've been talking about for months.

Since I have to park the car for a while to do the clutch anyway I decided to go ahead and yank the engine and do any and all work that it might need as well. Started the removal today and found that it was surprisingly easy. Basically all I have left to do is yank the exhaust and separate the clutch-housing from the torque-tube. Then it's just a matter of motor mounts and crossmember and then pulling it out.

Anyway, I'm taking pics, so I'll post them when I get them developed.

Take care all!

I would recommend using either the spring disc, or the Ford bronco II disc
