OXS light came on & won't go off.
Is there a reset or do I just replace it?

Thanks in advance!

The light's telling you it's time to replace, but that won't make the light go out. There's a black box mounted down on the inboard side of the front-left wheel well or shock tower. The reset button is at the bottom of it. You can take a coat hanger and bend a "J" shape in the end of it, then reach down from the top, feel around for the button (it's slightly recessed), position the "J" end on it and pull up. Haynes has you jacking up the car and resetting from below, but that's more work than needs to be done.

On a late model Series 1 924 (80, and later?) the oxygen sensor mileage counter is under the dashboard, on the firewall, where the speedo cable feeds in from the engine compartment.

It is down in the engine compartment, where you will find it on a 924T (931).

It's the same box though. Use a straightened paper clip to feed into the protected hole to reset the counter.

My 1980 had it under the hood, by the shock tower. Never heard of it being inside the cabin, though that sure would've been easier. The speedo cables for the cars with the mileage boxes come in lengths that would indicate they were all mounted under the hood, not under the dash, since the cable running from the box to the wheel would be too short and the one from the speedo to the box would be too long. Strange. Are there different cable setups for the cars with the box under the dash?

Gohim is correct once again. My 77 924 has the box under the dash wile my 80 931 is on the strut tower. I just had this happen a few days ago. Reset the box and all was fine.
