I really like it, it is a compilation of old magazine articles about the 924 from the late 1970s and 1980s. It is really interesting to hear what reviewers had to say about the 924 back then, and what cars they compared it to. _________________ 1987 951 - M193 Version for Japan |

I've almost finished reading the book!!!!
Very interesting especially to see what magazines printed in those years that never materialized e.g. "The 924 is THE PORSCHE of the future"
After reading I got a strong urge to get a nice example of 924 Turbo and buy it - there must be 2 or 3 of them here!!!! _________________ Euro 924 1980 N/A

Although nothing seems to have overtaken the 911 in popularity, evolutionary versions of the 924 prospered for nearly a quarter of a century after its introduction -the 944 and then the 968. Even the mighty 928 was of the water-cooled, front-engined philosophy, like the 924 (although from what I've read the 928 was actually designed before the 924).
I'd argue that for a long time after its release, the 924 must've truly seemed like the future of the marque, even if it didn't eventually work out that way.
And there's no reason to think that they mighn't go that way again. Just recently I heard rumours of a V8 front-engined sedan under review... _________________ '80 924 Turbo |
