Has anyone dealt with UK suppliers for GRP parts?

I'm looking at getting some Carrera GT parts and the 2 UK based concerns that supply them are Club Autosport (180GBP+tax) and Essential Styling(245GBP+tax) .

Theres a hefty price difference and I do wonder if this is a reflection of the quality having not seen the products first hand.

Essential Styling appears to deal with Van Zweeden and the quality does look good, whereas Club Autosport are an unknown.

Can anyone point me in the right direction. I know there are US suppliers but the tax, shipping etc would make such a purchase expensive don't you think?

PEFA.de makes some different FG parts. I like the dash the most.

Hello,

sorry for my bad english. But I´m from Germany and don´t use my english as often as the most here in this forum.

I have some Pefa parts at my Porsche 924. The quality is ok. Sometimes the fitting of the parts is not sooo good.

But the shipping costs from Geramny to England are really high. In 2004 I tried to send a Front spoiler to england. The shipping costs were 220€(!).

Nice evening.

Faith

Hello. You write better english than most North Americans!
As for the shipping cost, that is high, very high.

gt-racing.com....... exchange rate is really in our favour and the postage is cheap!

Hi there iwantacarrera.Several years ago I bought a GT kit to build a replica from my own car which I still have. The kit came from a place in Nottingham called Prima Racing(0115 949 1838).I don't know if they are still there as my invoice dates 1998.The kit comprised of: 2 Carrera fenders(not 944 copies as is often the case),2 rear spats, front GT bumper/spoiler and hood scoop. The thickness of the panels is pretty good considering it cost £425.It took a lot of work to make the panels fit though as it is difficult to get GRP to follow a mould perfectly.Hope this helps.
Regards
Ian
