I am about to tackle two rear hatch re-bonds, and I have this single-step glass primer... but what kind of degreaser should I use on the glass and metal before I lay it all down? I don't want to use the stuff 3m recommends for this, because it's like $10 for a bottle... if I could find it in any quantity less than a pallet...

I have a couple of them on my computer, but they severely lack pics.
I've learned a good bit from this forum, so I figure it's time I give a bit back!

$10 a bottle seems worth it compared to $200 or more for a good condition hatch. Also seems pretty cheap if it's going to get the job done correctly the first time.

I'm not thinking about it in a general "cheapness" way, more like it's a really expensive spray bottle of window cleaner. That, and I can only find it in bulk. I don't think I'll even use a whole bottle of the stuff, let alone 40!
I might just hit up the Home Depot and see what's around.

I asked at a glass shop, and they said that I should use something like simple green spray cleaner followed by detergent/soap and water. So I'm going to go that route. Going to start up paint on the window when I'm off work.
Wish me luck! I'll be taking a lot of pictures.

sooooooooooon. I was only able to start on it today, because I miraculously had work for the first time in over 3 months.
I'm planning on doing the job while taking pics, and when I'm sure it works right, then I'm posting the how-to. Don't need to look TOO stupid
