I am really interested in knowing the production date of my car. It is '87 with a VIN# WP0AA0921HN456545. Can anyone read VIN numbers or tell me where to find out? _________________ Keep a Chevy motor in a Chevy

I don't think it can be done from the VIN. The "H" is the year code. But H is the 8th letter in the alphabet, maybe you have an '88? Probably not or your title is wrong. Anyway there should be a build tag in your trunk area on the body in the spare tire well, near the trunk latch. It usually has month and year of manufacture. Porsche retools for the next model year in August, so anything built after August is the next model year.
If you want the exact day you may have to get a kardex (certificate of authenticity) from Porsche. About $35 dollars IIRC. _________________ '87 924S, now in better hands. Have a look. |

"A" was 1980 model year, the letter "H" is correct for a 87 model year car.
Look at the manufacturer's label in the left door jam (near the door latch pin on the car body) to see what month your car was built.
If I remember the production numbers correctly, #6545 would have been built close to the end of the model year. |
