Anybody have their windows tinted. Now that we are in the 100 degree days here in the Denver area, my interior is cooking. I was wondering if tinting holds up on the hatch.

window tint = good

I just had all of mine done. $75 is what I paid for just the rear window. Expect to pay AT LEAST that. Average is $125-$150 for just the back window.

The side windows are easy and after you get everything tinted your car will have a fun factor of 500% more as well as it will look ohh so much sexier...

Have it done at a good shop that has a free replacement warranty. Mine is still doing well.

Yeah - there are tints that fade and tints that don't. A good shop should know which is which and be using the right stuff.

I looked into the procedure a couple years ago - For curved glass, they first heat-form the tint material for the glass. Using dampened dryer sheets they first wipe the window, then let that dry - it leaves a fine powdered surface that serves as a dry lubricant so the tint won't bind to the glass during heating. They lay the tint on the window and tape in a couple spots to hold it in position, then use a heat gun mainly on the areas of the tint that aren't in contact with the glass to shrink those areas down to contact the glass. Once it's all formed like this it gets applied in the usual way.
