|
|
Coming home today on rainy NJ roads I decided to test out my new alignment.
The first 90-degree turn in town I stepped on it a little and the tail kicked out.
Hmmm I thought like a race car.
The second 90 I said- lets try a little more--Hit it hard in second gear on the turn.
The back came all the way around-- I panicked and corrected too much--
The back went all the way around the other way crossing the on coming lane.
This is where everything stops for that one instant and you know its out of your hands---Your on the ride now and can't get off.
I corrected again and it bolted back in lane.
No on coming---Whew.
Much, much, better than coffee.
It was very stupid of me. I was very lucky.
Can I correct my back end slide by increasing my rear camber?
I'm set at 1/2 all the way around.
Scary. _________________ 1978 924 95 mile daily driver.

I knew that positive thinking thing wouldn't work. |

lol, try full throttle shifting into second and the back coming right up beside you and you have a semi on either side of you and managing to straighten it out leaving your foot to the floor and launching,
oh the fun I had shortly after getting the car
I always wondered why my friend was hanging on so tight though
I personally would recommend increasing the tread width in the back say from 205 to a 225, just lower the profile by 5 to correct for height _________________ 3 928s, |

Was it better than coffee because it woke you up without the laxative effect? ...or because it made you crap your pants without waking you up?

I don't think there's anything you can do with alignment to keep from skidding out in the rain. Loss of adhesion was abviously the problem today. You need to practice the wet weather driving on a skidpad (at least a large empty parking lot) and check out the alignment on dry roads. _________________ "..it's made in Germany. Yes, IIRC you should have closer to 1.5 deg camber in the rear for stock settings. Of course, toe will also play into it, need all settings right. _________________ Vaughan Scott

In my last competition my tail spinned so badly that I finished on the grass looking the other way
This embarrasing moment was broadcasted on open TV and then repeated in cable TV
I´ve got my 10 seconds of fame.... _________________ Euro 924 1980 N/A
