Hey Guys!

I just finished installing my alarm. Boy it looks good when it chirps and flashes. Anyhow, there are only two wires that i coulndn't install and i would like to ask you where should i connect them.

First of all, i have a the Engine Immobilizer. This should be installed to the wire that comes form the ingition straight to the starter. But which wire is which!! Can anyone tell me what is it's color ? I have a 77' 924

The Second wire is the ACC. Should i plug this to the ignition? Or can i plug it to any thing that works when i turn the key to on.

B.T.W Do you know any online shop, or any one that can ship me the HAYNES manual to lebanon? I really need it!

Thanx in Advance

I'm pretty sure if you order it from Amazon.com they would ship to you.

Can't help on the wires. Too early in the a.m.

i intalled a cheap alarm i got from this place it was only 30 bucks...

it is called bulldog 2001i and the computer, sensor and siren all all one unit and you install it under your hood and one wire goes to your battery. its not that great it doesn't really feel shock from the bakc of your car cus the sensor is up front so you have to get a nice blow to the bakc of the car or your bakc window, event he door to set it off. but it does turn on when the door is opened cus it senses current change.

an yah mine also has a immobilizer, i didn't want to bother installing it cus i don't think anyones going to steal my car. i was just worried about vandalism, alot of people scratch paint and shit, this alarm wouldn't even turn on if someone scratches it.... Also my gas cap opens up and you never know some punk kids might put shit in your gas tank but this alarm again won't probaly go off by twisting the gas cap.

Some alarms have a screw to adjust the sensitivity. The one on my mustang can be adjusted so it'll go off in a stiff wind. Use to drive my neighbors nuts 'till I found the adjustment. Now it goes off if you bump against the car gently, like reaching over the door when the top is down. Works great. You may want to check for some kind of adjustment screw on yours.

mine is adjusted with the remote only you have to tap over the hood adjust the alarm to that amount of shock if you don't knock it goes to max sensitivityi havn't tried it but i don't want rain setting off my alarm or something like that. i thinkt he alarm just sucks real badi read a lot of bad reiviews on the bulldog alarm. it is a whole unit siren and senosr and is mounted under the hood so i don't think it can sense shock too good like from the back of the car or even fromteh doors. i tried slapping tthe doors prety hard and it wouldn't turn on.

I got mine for 30$ too. Its called MAG-1000.It is very good, but a bit difficut to install, lots of units and wires to install. When i adjust the shock sensor to max, the alarm gets triggered when ever a truck passes by. The remote looks like the stock alarm on the new Mercedes ML series.

I think ill pass the immobilizer, but i need to install the ACC wire. I think ill link it to the volt gague on my instrument panel or anything that goes on when the key is at ACC. Better than figuring out which wire is the ACC on my ignition. The ACC wire, that is coming from my alarm, helps controling some featues of the alarm, such as adding a new remote or deactivating the alarm for a period of time.

Anyhow, this alarm is great for 924 owners who like to have a bit of protection, and have a bit of experience with their 924's electrical system. But i couldn't find a website that has the MAG-1000...

B.T.W here is a good website that i just found that eases the pain while trying to install elecrtical devices: www.the12volt.com

this is a larger red/black wire you can find it on the plug on the back of the ign swith but a better place to splice in as if they are going to be trying to steal the car will probably not look here is in the engine bay infront of the battery tray there is a 3 prong connector with the red/black wire in it break the connection here for the immobilizer,

the 924 ACC or accessory position is not the best design, and most 924 that I have seen havent even had the wire in the back of the ign switch plug for it, if you REALLY want an ACC wire you are best off pulling the ignition switch housing and putting the key in the ACC position and testing continuity for all the different poles through the main (red wire on plug) pole on the switch, IMO however you are going to better off just finding a switched wire (on when in on position, off when in all other positions) and plugging this wire into this,

also remember that alarms are just deterants and can be easily bypassed

a friend of mine's alarm is so sensiitive that all you have to do is tap on the car and it will go off, needless to say bottle rockets in the tailpipe set it off pretty well, too
