Hey all....

Gonna' be ready to finish up the body work on the 924S this summer and I'm wondering where to go to have it painted.

Anybody in New England know of any decent bodymen/painters? And I don't mean the "fix-it and ship-it" insurance guys, either. Somebody that can mix up a good batch of Guards Red and not send me away with Orange Peel Red.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Also, has anyone ever attempted "smoothing" out the body on these cars before paint? I.e. filling body-panel joints (the front bumper, valence, fender joints look AWFUL), shaving the antenna and fitting a "stealth" one, etc??? I know a lot of people get defensive about the car's "beautiful" looks from the factory, but I'd like to individualise mine a bit, you know? I wouldn't mind seeing the body a bit slicker.

Thanks!

By shaving the antenna, do you mean installing a retractable unit, or switching out the windshield with one that has an antenna built in, like those found in later 944s? The first option is easiest (and cheapest); see this thread for info:

if you have any questions, let me know.
The second option would be great, but from what I've heard, it's ludicrously expensive for the ability to tune in to a weak signal from the easy listening stations in boston!
