Yup became high bidder at 62 bucks and my limit was 90
bucks I was at work when the auction ended at 10 this mornen ..
I lost by a dollar.
it was a 3" outlet so I would of had to add a reducer no prob though
and this... this would of been a cool solution.

Eah, they're not so hot... and sound less than optimal. I started out with one of those on the racecar. I later traded up to some Dynomax Race Bullet mufflers, much less money (closer to $30 new retail) and sound much better... _________________ Vaughan Scott

I agree, super trap is not the best option for racing, and they are totally unexceptable for the street. _________________ 1980 924 Turbo |

those mufflers just reek of "ricer" or "hot rodder"... in my opionion, completely unacceptable for a 924. Go with a nice flowmaster or something else that will give the car its rightful growl. _________________ '80 931 FOR SALE

What's the big deal with the bullet style mufflers? Is there some sort of advantage over the oval style or is it just a preference thing? Personally I think the bullet mufflers look ugly, cheap, and ricey but that's just me. I really like the look of stock black muffler w/ chrome tip. _________________ 1988 Porsche 924S

The bullet mufflers tuck nicely away inside the torque tube tunnel. The exhaust does not make it back much further, and is dumped out before the rear suspension.
So no tips to see. It's a racecar. _________________ Vaughan Scott

I prefer a oval muffler tucked up under the midsection of the car with the tailpipes going out the back, so you can't see any muffler at all; or sidepipes look quite nice as well _________________ 1987 924S Guards Red

I've run a supertrapp on my J 924 racer since 92 -- long before I'd even heard "ricer". They're not perfect, but they are stainless so they hold up well, and you can repack them, and you can use the disks to tune the tourque. So, from a race standpoint, I don't think they're that bad. Yep, pretty much waay too loud for the street, but I think that's part of the fun
BTW, if that's what you really want, I haven't lookes at their catalog for a while but you might get a better price from Racer Wholesale in Atlanta. They also carry the other products as well (dynomaxx, etc.) |

The Supertrap is an interesting idea. I knew guys who used to run them on motorcycles back in the 80's. It has a low picthed hissing sound. I never really liked them. _________________ 1981 924 NA
