Hello Everyone...
Finally got another email address so I can use this forum again...I lost my username and password...
Anyway Ive now got another 924 ..a 931 with a carerra GT bodykit..and some mad rims.
I was told by some guy at my local porsche car club meeting that The Apexi AVCR boost controller would work on my car...I didnt believe him, but after some convincing I went onto ebay and started to bid for one...Of course Im winning, after talking to the guy selling it he told me that there is no chance at all taht it will work on my car. Ofcourse everyone else has stopped bidding on it! bugga
Please let me know if this is a complete waste of money buying this. I was hoping that there might be someway to get the appropriate connections from around the engine bay, but after thinking about I cant believe I had that thought.
Please let me know, any help is appreciated greatly.
Here are some pics if anyone is interested

| I have investigated the AVCR controller in the past, I would have bought one by now, but they are pretty expensive for my taste. I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work......did they give you a reason for it not working in the 924 turbo? |

I have been looking at turbo timers in the past as well, and IMHO, most timers ARE a waste of money.
My reasoning for this is that most timers use the voltage coming from the alternator to figure out what rpm the engine is running at, and then calculates the run-time by how often your engine exceeds a certain RPM.
The turbo timer I'm looking at (and the only type I will buy) is a Blitz Dual Timer, which includes a built-in boost gauge, and calculates run-time by how often your turbo is under boost. Again, IMHO, this is a better way to go. These timers can be found on Ebay for around $100US. When I have the cash, I'll be picking one up (which will be shortly after my turbo rebuild is done) _________________ '80 931 FOR SALE

thanks Kye!
This is what the guy said "Unfortunately, the APEXi AVC-R does need to hook up to you ECU and there is no way where you can do it otherwise."
He did recommend the HKS EVCthough as he said this would work without the ECU.
Oh well the money I save on this I can spend somewhere else....always find something to buy for it!
I might have to get a look at the Blitz TT. I'll go and annoy autobahn.
thanks. _________________ ------------------------------
