Hey Guys!

I was thinking of fitting in a 944 dash into my 924, and I thought that i should also install 944 door panels. Would they fit on my 924?

Also, would the 944 speedometer and tachometer work on the 924?

Thanks in Advance

That is a lot of work. Why not just buy a pre-85.5 944, they are going pretty cheap now days...

The early 944 (82-85/1) dashboard is exactly the same as the 924 dashboard (appearance wise) except for a difference in colors, and finish textures.

The late 944 (85/2 and later) cannot be installed in an 924 or early 944 because of changes to the metal structure under the dashboard that supports the dashboard.

It's actually not very difficult. The '83-'85.5 944 dash & door panels have a much nicer grain pattern to them than the 924 pieces. I presume you're not asking about using the late 944 interior- that would involve relocating the steering column among other things.

The 944 speedo & tach with the yellow letters will work, however, the fuel/temp/multigauge has different electrical connections than your early gauge ('77-'7. Also, I don't believe that the speedo has the light in the center for the turn signal indicator.

One last difficulty is that all 944 door panels will have holes for power window&mirror switches and no hole for the manual window crank.

All in all, it's probably not going to look/function very well if you swap out these pieces.

Thanks!

I was thinking of putting that round-shaped 944 dash, but i think that ill try to install a custom dash or keep the old one! As Chrenan said, It would be cheaper to buy a 944, but it consumes a lot of gas! The Price is about 16$ to fillup the car here in lebanon! My dad pays about 60$ every 3 days to fillup his Plymouth Grand Voyager!!! Thats one of the reasons that made us to buy the 924!

that is pretty funny, in the netherlands i pay 1.25 euro's per liter so that would come to 75 euro for 60 liters (almost a full tank) 1 euro costs 1.25 dollars, that's almost 100 dollars for a full tank of gas. how do you call them apples??? YOU'RE LUCKY with just 16 dollars for a full tank
