Iwantacarrera carfax is just like a record database that keeps track of cars by their vin number. It tells you if a car is likely to have had an odometer roll back, car was in a major accident, or had flood damage or anything like that. I'm not sure if it's setup to for use in the UK but if not I'm sure there is something like that in the UK.

We have something called HPI which looks to be very similar. Thankfully mine has already been checked and the only thing it shows is a mysterious colour change from brown to its current Cassis Red. Odd thing is I can't find any evidence of brown paint LOL.
