How wide of wheel will fit on a 1981 931, whats the widest you guys have run with out problems?

205/50X17 tires on 7" wide wheels work great. 55 mm offset.

Factory flatdishes are only 6" wide. I'd be somewhat uncomfortable putting 225's on a 6" rim. I think 8" is optimal and 7" is workable for 225's. That being said, I was getting some rubbing with 225's on the rear on 8" 55mm offset wheels. I manged to get the fenders rolled and it's still tight, but they don't rub. This may also be tire brand specific. Mine have curb protectors that protrude out a bit.

Some have said they've put 245's on the rear. It seems amazing to me but I guess it's somehow possible. Although I think that's really getting into width overkill considering the power that these cars put out.

235/40-17 et34 and 9mm spacer.

Run 255/40-17 with a set of 13mm spacer out back on 9,5*17 turbo cup series 1 wheels.
