Hey all! The black rubber body moulding/trim is missing in areas on my '80 931. I've searched high and low for replacement parts. Turned up nothing.
Any suggestions on where to look/buy etc? |

You Rock Paul! Stoked you found that thread for me. Very helpful. Getting sick of looking at the partial mouldings left on the 931.
As always thanks, man.

| FYI for others -- the link in the thread Paul found mouldings cites Sportwing but is dead. Just Google them, they're there. |

I would remove them personally they were optional equipment, and the car looks way better w/o imo, just park in the back of the lot and get abit of excersise, _________________ 3 928s, |

I got a new catalog from "MidAmerica" (formerly Tweeks), and it shows a complete set of replacement side molding for $180.
I would call them to check if their product is a reproduction with exactly orginal contour, parts from the original Porsche Supplier, or made from the same exact material as the original Porsche parts, or original Porsche Product, before ordering it. Some of the reproduction seals from Tweeks are not a very good reproductions of the original parts. |

FWIW I ended up buying those and installing them. The job turned out excellent and close enough to stock for my tastes. _________________ Dan Flanagan--2002 VW Jetta TDI, 83 Mercedes 300D,83 Mercedes Euro-240D |

Hi: Go to Pep Boys. For $9.00 & change, get StyleGuard narrow body molding. Comes in a 16 ft roll. It is identical to the Porsche molding. Use a strip of masking tape just below where you will apply the molding. Cut the ends at a 45 degree angle. Allow 1/8th inch for door clearance. Does a great job. | Killer input guys thanks. I saw those moulding strips at Pep Boys (similar to Autozone etc.) Good to know the small ones work. Jpab thanks for the link. Good of ya. Trying to scrape the money together to detail her soon. Then I'll deal with the moulding issues. I'll let you know! |
